Barton Family Practice News – October 2024
We are thrilled to announce that our very own nurse, Sister Rose Bain, has been awarded the title of Queen’s Nurse. The title of Queen’s Nurse is awarded to outstanding nurses in the community who have demonstrated a high level of commitment to patient care, learning, and leadership. We all know what a fantastic nurse Rose is and many of you can attest to her professionalism, dedication, and enthusiasm for caring for patients. She is an inspiration and role model for other nurses. Sister Bain plans to use her new role to promote health in the community, particularly the farming community. Please join us in congratulating her on the achievement of becoming a Queen’s Nurse.
Those of you on Facebook may have noticed that the Barton Family Practice Facebook page was non-functional earlier in the year. This was due to a technical issue which affected some GP surgery accounts. We are pleased to say that the site is now up and running, and we encourage patients to follow us on Facebook as one way of keeping abreast of news from the surgery.
The NHS App has many functions and uses, and we encourage everyone with a smart phone to download the app. A new functionality is in allowing you to book some GP and nurse appointments. There are a limited number of bookable appointments at present and we recommend a visit to the app to see for yourself.
Finally, and sadly, we have the news that Tara is leaving the surgery for pastures new. She is one of our longest standing receptionists and has helped us through the difficulties of the pandemic and beyond. We are immensely grateful to Tara for her contribution to the running of the surgery over the years.
Best wishes from everyone at BFP.
